Urban Lincoln – Part 1
No matter what city you’re in there’s the good parts and the bad and what I mean by that is that the parts that aren’t considered photogenic usually get ignored. This post, Urban Lincoln – Part 1 is exploring the ‘urban’ parts of the city of Lincoln (Self explanatory in the title, but you know!). Photographers tend to go to The Bailgate more than any other part of the city and sometimes, photographing the not so beautiful places can create some interesting pieces of art.
These photographs were taken down Stamp End. It’s a pretty industrial looking area with a local lock for passing through boats etc. The walk had never appealed to me before but one day I just fancied a walk down there. I did take my camera with every intension of using it however I did the rookey mistake of not checking the charge and changing the battery. So my iPhone was my trusted companion in this shoot.
The most exciting part of the trip though was the heron that sat chilling right next to us at the lock without us even knowing. It made us jump out of our skin when it decided to fly off and that meant that we didn’t get a photograph of it. I’ve also just realised I took no actual photographs of the lock itself, but maybe that could be an addition to Urban Lincoln Part 2.
