Jason Bradbury

Jason Bradbury is an English presenter best known for the TV programme, The Gadget Show aired on Chanel 5. He is also known for presenting a show called Don’t Scare the Hare as well as being a childrens author.

It was back in March 2015 when I attended an event in which Jason Bradbury was hosting and we managed to get him on his own for a short while to grab some photographs of him. I managed to get quite a few but I am going to share with you some of my favourites from the event and 1 on 1 shoot.

The photographs from inside the event weren’t anything to shout about. I was a college student still learning techniques and how to work my camera on manual mode, getting to grips with the settings was not easy but never the less worth it in the long run. My favourite photograph from the whole shoot was the one you’re about to see next.

I wanted to use the mirrored building to my advantage however it came with its issues, if you stood in a certain place with no shallow depth of field, you were going to get hideous reflections from the surroundings behind us, so by taking the photograph from a low angle, I was able to get quite a plain background with the reflection portraying the sky and not the behind car park.

I will add in as well, the photographs where I didn’t angle the composition so that the background was complimentary to Jason. You’ll know exactly what I mean about it being very hard and problematic background without the right angle to shoot from.

It was great to photograph someone who you’d not always get the opportunity to photograph, it makes you think on the spot a lot quicker. Who have you photographed before that you’re particully proud of if anyone? Who would it be a dream to photograph?
