The peak district is one of my favourite places that’s close enough by to go and photograph. What I like to do when I travel some distance for photographs is edit in sets of 3 because I can never choose which edit’s I like best so I split it between the photographs that I actually get. These 3 photographs are part of a series called Golden Peak District.
Golden Peak District
If you’re familiar with the peak district, you’ll probably know where these photographs were taken however, if you’re not, these were taken around Mam Tor and Blue John Cavern area, which you can get to by driving through the beautiful Winnats Pass.
Due to the intermittent clouds covering the sky, we were blessed with some gorgeous patches of sunlight throughout the peaks and it really made some beautiful shadows on the huge hills, meaning there was a lot of playing with the shadows and highlights within these photographs.
These photographs were taken with a Sony a7ii and a 50mm 1.8. Edited in Adobe Lightroom Classic.
When the blue sky finally peaked through the clouds I also made sure to snap it up as soon as I could. I have some beautiful wide angle photographs coming soon that were taken on my iPhone that look stunning. Keep an eye out for those, they’re definitely worth taking a look at.
What do you think about these images? What would you do differently and how could they potentially be improved? Let me know in the comments below.
